A former journalist in the daily press, Hal Marcovitz is the author of nearly 200 books, most for the school library market. For older readers, he has co-authored the travel boon Bloom’s Literary Places: Rome, and Taught to Read: The Education of the Presidents of the United States. Hal has also written two very funny novels, Painting the White House, and My Life With Wings. Painting the White House tells the story of an ordinary house painter hired to paint the Executive Mansion in Washington where, of course, he encounters all manner of unusual people, weird intrigue, and less-than-admirable politicians. In My Life With Wings, the main character wakes one morning to discover he has grown wings overnight, and for the remainder of the story ponders what kind of life awaits someone who possesses the ability to fly.
